The Simrad KN200 intensifiers are clip-on units providing a night time capability to optical day sights. The night vision image is viewed through the eyepiece of the day sight. This allows the user to retain the same eye position, aiming reticle and magnification for both day and night use.

Simrad's array of Image Intensifier night sights provide an unparalleled spectrum of choice for the armed forces. The KN series, consisting of the KN200 and the KN250, offer a lightweight, effective and affordable unit which can be added on to existing day scopes or sighting systems without modification. By adding the KN to the daysight, bore sighting remains unchanged, and the performance of the day sight is retained twenty four hours a day.

The system utilizes 2nd and 3rd Gen Image Intensifier tubes according to customer requirements, including the new XR-5 tube. Features such as field adjustable bore sighting and manual gain control are now also available. Adaptability is the key to the KN's success, as they can also provide night vision for laser range finders and alternative weapon sights such as Simrad's own IS2000. They also provide Night Vision for Simrad's own night vision binoculars, the KDN250.
